Q:
How can I use Simplicity Studio to get access to the latest tools and documentation from Energy Micro?
A:
1) Download and install Simplicity Studio from http://www.energymicro.com/software/simplicity-studio.
2) Go to Energy Micro folder on your Windows start menu, and start Simplicity Studio. Make sure you install the recommended packages when prompted.
3) In Simplicity Studio go to Add/Remove under Downloads and install the energyAware Commander
4) Select the packages you want to install. If you are unsure what you need, press Install All.
The Simplicity Studio installer is stripped of all packages (tools, documents etc.). This minimizes the initial download time and allows the users to select themselves which packages they want to download once Simplicity Studio is installed. To download and install these packages Simplicity Studio needs a working internet connection. If you have a working connection, you should see the latest news articles from Energy Micro listed in the "Energy Micro News" section on the right hand side of the Simplicity Studio window. If you do not see this you should check the following:
1) Ensure that your computer has a working internet connection
2) If you are connecting to the internet through a proxy server, fill in your proxy configuration under "File->Network Settings".
3) Simplicity Studio uses port 80 to connect to http://cdn.energymicro.com. Make sure that this connection is not blocked by any firewall.
As Simplicity Studio uses the same connection method as a normal internet browser, you could use the proxy settings that are configured for your browser, directly in Simplicity Studio.
